How to watch WPBL games
As of Oct. 8, 2026, no 2027 WPBL broadcast deal or schedule has been announced — see WPBL 2027: what we know. Here’s how the 2026 season aired: in the U.S., every game streamed on ESPN (ESPN Select / ESPN+, a paid subscription); 11 regular-season games also aired free on Scripps Sports; the playoffs were ESPN-only; and fans outside the U.S. watched on YouTube. The league YouTube channel (@wpbl_official) posts highlights. During the 2026 season, U.S. viewers asking there for full games ran into the ESPN+ lock: full games were for fans outside the U.S.

The league’s July 30 media-rights announcement said ESPN was the U.S. distributor for all regular-season and playoff games: ESPN Select streamed 19 regular-season games exclusively, carried 11 more co-exclusively with Scripps Sports Network, and exclusively carried the postseason, including the Championship Series. The July 31 watch post also named ESPN Select; ESPN’s own press release and watch hub labeled the games ESPN+. Awful Announcing reported that ESPN Select is the successor name for ESPN+.
How U.S. fans watched in 2026:
- Open the ESPN app (phone, tablet, computer, or living-room device).
- Sign in with an account that includes ESPN+ / ESPN Select. This was a paid subscription; check ESPN for current plans and prices.
- Open the WPBL streaming hub on ESPN, or search “Women’s Pro Baseball League” in the app.
ESPN’s July 30 press release said 37 games would stream on ESPN platforms during the inaugural season, with ESPN the exclusive home of the postseason. ESPN.com’s explainer said the same: 37 games, including 30 regular-season games and the Championship Series.
Was it on linear TV, or only streaming?
Streaming. Awful Announcing reported that the 2026 ESPN/Scripps agreements did not put any games on traditional television. The ESPN press-release schedule marked every game “ESPN+.”
Why it could sound like radio:
- The league, not ESPN, produced the telecasts (ESPN press release: “WPBL will be responsible for production of all game telecasts”).
- The official site uses the word “broadcast,” which people hear as cable TV. In 2026 it meant a stream.
- The league also has a WPBL Podcast. That is audio, not the game feed.
- No official AM/FM radio rights package was listed.

The official watch post listed these games on Scripps Sports Network (all 7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CT). ESPN’s press release marked the same 11 as “also simulcast on Scripps Sports Network.” Scores are from our 2026 schedule.

Scripps Sports Network is a free, ad-supported streaming channel (FAST), not a cable number you can punch in. At launch in March 2026, Scripps said the channel would be on The Roku Channel, Samsung TV Plus, LG Channels, Amazon Prime Video / Fire TV, Google TV Freeplay, Xumo Play, TCL tv+ / TCL Channel, Plex, Local Now, Sports.TV, and Tablo. Availability varies by device and region.
2026 outside the United States — YouTube
