ESPN’s league explainer: in 2014 she became the first girl to win a Little League World Series game and the first female pitcher to throw a shutout in that tournament; she later played softball at Hampton; Los Angeles took her 10th overall. On the official SF roster as the No. 1 overall pick. ESPN calls her a USA Baseball two-way pitcher/outfielder. The official Aug. 12 recap and MLB.com: she hit three home runs (3-for-4, six RBI) in San Francisco’s 8–2 win over Los Angeles, the league’s first three-homer game. On the official LA roster (Tokorozawa, Japan). The league’s April schedule post and July branding post both flag her as a headliner for Opening Day. World Baseball Network described her as coming up through Japan’s Venus League. The official Aug. 12 recap had her starting that night against San Francisco.
